Runway 1 of VAMFF

What a wonderful experience at Runway 1 yesterday! As soon as I turned up to the venue a few photographers snapped up some photos of me and I’ve literally never had that experience before so I was really stoked that they liked my outfit enough to take a photo πŸ˜›

Below are the details of what I wore to the runway show last night:

Wearing Finders Keepers the Label Dress paired with Calypso Lipstick from Napoleon Perdis. It was all about colour for me that evening and I’m glad it made me stand out of the crowd!

Midi rings and cuff from TopShop Australia. Midi rings have become my new favorite accessory!

Although my styling theme for my outfit was ‘all about colour’, runway 1 designers presented a monochrome palette mixing with comfortable sport luxe (a trend I’m still lusting over!).

The designers for runway 1 included:

  • Bassike
  • Josh Goot
  • Christopher Esber
  • Maticevski
  • Scanlan Theodore
  • Willow
  • Strateas.Carlucci

The designers collections that stood out for me the most was Maticevski and Willow. There was also a dress that I adored by Christopher Esber as seen right below.

A few more of my favourite looks from last night πŸ™‚

Below is a photo I took (sorry for the poor quality! My phone couldn’t handle it!) and on the night I captioned how “blessed [I am] for these experiences” and I truly am. The atmosphere at these runway shows is phenomenal! Surrounded by fashionable people, watching fashion, enjoying a glass of wine and appreciating the fantastic music as the models strut their stuff down the runway. What more could I want in such an amazing event? πŸ™‚

Friday night I’ll also be attending a runway show so keep an eye out for my blog post about that night.

Did you attend any shows? Let me know! πŸ™‚

Burberry Spring Summer ’14 Campaign

If you know me well, then you would know that Burberry Prorsum is one of my favourite fashion houses. Why? Burberry always manages to make anyone look uber cool and confident yet elegant. Of course, the iconic trench coats is what distinguishes Burberry from many other high fashion brands but I in particular love how wearable these pieces are which can be mixed and matched with other items in your wardrobe or past season Burberry pieces.

This campaign draws attention to a pastel colour palette making this the most versatile, fresh and gorgeous colour to be worn during the Spring/Summer seasons.

My experience at MSFW 2013!

Wow! What an amazing two days it has been celebrating fashion at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week!

First off, let me show you my outfit choice for thursday night Runway 3

What do you think? I noticed that bright colours and neon were in style this season (according to many fashionistas in the crowd and the runway show) and I was so glad I looked the part πŸ˜› I paired this dress with these gorgeous white thick strapped shoes with a wooden sole and heel. The contrast with the white and orange looked amazing and I felt pretty amazing too πŸ™‚

So before entering town hall for the main runway show, I explored the MSFW hub which was full of exciting stalls, freebies and an atmosphere worth experiencing! Got a few photos taken and got my nails done which put me in a buzzing and excited mood for the main runway show! Check out the photo below of inside the MSFW hub! Looks pretty amazing, ey?

Runway 3 consisted of the most talented and well-known Australian designers presenting collections which were eye-catching, exciting and inspirational. The designers I saw were as follows: Akira, ALEXI FREEMAN, Arthur Galan AG, Calibre, Christine, Megan Park, nevenka, Thurley and Yeojin Bae. My favourite collections of the night were Thurley and Yeojin Bae, so keep an eye out on a post where I talk about my favourite looks down the runway!

I also attended a free runway show and the brand’s collection I saw was Review which had the most incredible and gorgeous dresses! Lots of colour, polka dots and lace. I would seriously wear every single dress I saw down the runway πŸ˜›

So that’s all I have for now guys! Just wanted to share with you my experience during this exciting week. Did you attend any runway shows? If so, who was your favourite designer/collection? Send me a comment, would love to hear all about your own experiences too πŸ™‚

Myer SS14 Launch – My favourite designers & looks of the season

So much to love about the Myer SS launch and its making me super excited for the Spring Summer season! So sick of the cold dreary days, bring on the heat and bring on the gorgeous summery dresses, tailored cropped pants, delicate tops and sandal heels!Β Here I will provide a brief overview of my favourite designers and my favourite looks off the runway!

My favourite designers of this launch would have to be:

  • Nicola Finetti
  • Ellery
  • Yeojin Bae – YB J’Aime
  • Sarah Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton – Sass & Bide
  • Wayne Cooper
  • Prue Rainey – Cue
  • Maticevski

The key trends I have been spotting is the white on white trend. This gives a very refereshing and pure look making this perfect for a sunny day.

Animal print and structured layers is seen to be very popular too!

For the men I see a lot of blue on white going on giving more of a pop of colour and away from the classic black and white suit.

Sport Luxe Fashion – An ‘active’ trend hitting the runways!

Does anyone know much about Sport luxe fashion? This pretty much means when high fashion and sport come together to form a gorgeous trend with chic casual wear crossed with luxe athletic wear. I completely adore this trend and been loving it since joining the gym! How comfy is athletic clothes? So why not be able to mash it in with our everyday wear? This trend consists of hats, pants, trendy sneakers, lots of colour, use of materials such as leather and stretchy material as well as some gorgeous hair trends with a sporty but feminine look!
